Pink Salmon (Oncorhynchus gorbuscha), also called Humpies, start to show up in mid-July with their numbers dwindling by early August. Pink Salmon runs are typically every other year. They enter the rivers mixed in with the chum and sockeye that pour into all of July. Pink salmon love surface poppers and anything pink and make for a great shore lunch as they are best eaten fresh.
